Gift for my mother. A bag charm in pearl, abalone, crystal, glass, and silver wire.
Notes: Helloooo huge jump rings! I’ll probably buy more — sterling silver ones this time — when I move on to making bracelets. I used white and purple freshwater pearls strung on silver wire (the rings the pearls are hanging on […]

Is it true that the meteor
was a dove of amethyst? (Pablo Neruda)
I did it tonight in a rare burst of energy. The baselines are tilted and I really wish I could re-do the placement, but it still makes me smile. It […]

Working on layouts for Diwa and Likhain @ Multiply. Diwa is giving me headaches, since I’ll have to learn yet another way to skin a cat– er, the site, or at least the online shop part of it. I don’t really want to use ready-made templates.
Also, I have to work on the site structure…! Rargh.

She is a little twilight sparrow!
I planned a pale yellow/gray/blue color scheme for this, with some abstract patterns in magenta for accents. And then — and then it got way out of […]

Initial concept: fluffy parody of ridiculously thin and long-necked girls with stylized faces and pouty lips, sitting pretty in gorgeous lacy dresses. It just so happened that I had exams this week, and I get obsessed with detail whenever I’m stressed.
And wings! Well, black wings make everything better!

So let’s talk about how Mia is a glutton for punishment.
I meant to do a fluffy piece to poke fun at the absurdly long-necked, stick-thin stylized pretty girls so popular in some online art communities. Some basic inks and contrasts, then watercolor. I was going to add lace to the skirts when I thought, […]

I love it when ideas just come and you’re able to express them before the moment disappears. It’s a little weird if the “moment” arrives just as you’re climbing into bed, but then again I think it’s a good thing I managed to stand up and get art stuff before I closed my eyes.
A watercolor […]

Miamor — Mi Amor — Mia more, without an e. Offspring of a totally unexpected union between the draftblog and the prose/poetry review/recommendation log. A virtual sandbox for bits and pieces of art, writing, and whatever expressions of ideas Mia manages to come up with. More
