Out of many, one

For Econ 102, Microeconomics, we were required to write a 2-3 page “memorandum” addressed to our professor regarding a microeconomic problem. The memo was supposed to contain a discussion on the background of the problem, issues related to it, possible solutions, etc. Since I’m working (trying; it’s not going too smoothly right now) on a research problem in econophysics I decided to write about that, though I’m not sure that’s what my professor had in mind when he assigned the memorandum.
Planning for this spanned several days, but the actual writing took only two hours or so. It didn’t turn out the way I envisioned, but I like it nonetheless. I think that I’ll write something similar to this — only more comprehensive, clearer, less formal in tone (in other words, not similar to this at all) — sometime when I’ve read a few more papers and have come up with my own results. The minority game is very fascinating, after all.
